HBMS > HBMS Project Vision > HBMS support process

HBMS enables to preserve special aspects of individual memory by building a cognitive model of her/his behavior.

In the first HBMS development stage a psychology domain expert observes a person and writes down the different steps of his/her behavior e.g. using a coffee machine or using a online banking account. Behavioral sequences of the person’s Universe of Discourse are elicited step-by-step, mapped to and integrated into a cognitive model (HCM, Human Cognitive Model).

Observation technologies e.g. activity and intention recognition, the usage of smart meters to detect and individualize Activities of Daily Living or the usage of sensors and Case Based Reasoning (CBR) for activity recognition are planed for later development stages of HBMS.

HCM is the transformed to a formal ontology which allows to automatically infer knowledge. If an individual needs assistance, HBMS can return information about missing steps out of his/her former behavior, e.g. on a technical device like a smartphone, tablet PC or perhaps in the future some other kind of “smart environment.”
